Two of Our Own Honored
Recently, two long-time employees of First Bank & Trust were honored for their many contributions.
At the regular monthly Board Meeting of the First Bank & Trust Board of Directors, Linda Holmes was honored for 50 years in banking and presented with a commemorative plaque and statue. Here she is pictured above with the attending members of the Board of Directors.
Also honored this month, Cindy Reiman was presented with the Murphysboro Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award for her many efforts in supporting the community. Here, she is pictured accepting her award at the Annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner at 17th Street Warehouse.

Co-Ed Slow Pitch Softball
First Bank & Trust once again sponsored a Co-Ed Softball Team in the DeSoto Daze Slow Pitch Tournament.
During the weekend of June 20-22, the team played 5 games in a round robin tournament. Pictured above are several members of the team.

Relay for Life - Team FBT
Team FBT (Fighting Battles Together) participated in Murphysboro's Relay for Life at Murphysboro High School on June 13-14, 2014. Team members worked hard to organize many fundraisers for this worthy cause, an annual American Cancer Society event to raise awareness and funds to fight cancer. Highlights from their efforts are listed below.
$595 raised with an Easter cookie sale - They rolled out, cut, baked, and iced 103 DOZEN cookies!
On Friday, May 2nd, Pat's BBQ was gracious enough to help out with another fundraiser. For Every BBQ Plate they sold for lunch that day, $2 was donated to Team FBT for Relay for Life. Altogether, with sales, donations, and the wonderful women who work the counter donating their tips, Team FBT was able to raise $282.50!
Other fundraisers included a bake sale and yard sale, homemade cancer awareness bracelets, luminaria for the Relay for Life event, and a peanut roll sale.
Altogether, Team FBT raised $5,594.57!! Congratulations to everyone who volunteered and a special thank you to everyone who bought items and donated money.
